Enviro Painter

What is an Enviropainter?

An Enviropainter is a registered member of the Master Painters Australia who has undertaken an accredited training course on 22002VIC Sustainable Painting Practices. An Enviropainter® can advise on the latest products and painting practices; use reusable and renewable resources and materials and minimize paint waste and water use. Their working practices reduce the impact of the painting and decorating trade on the environment.

Sustainable Painting Practices training program was launched on the 23rd June, 2010. It was funded by Sustainability Victoria and developed by Holmesglen with specialist advice from industry representatives. The accredited training course provides painters with the skills and knowledge in environmentally sustainable painting practices by promoting, developing and maintaining sustainable painting practices and environmental activities.

The training course addresses a range of topics

  • sustainable painting practices
  • work safety for painters (OHS)
  • waste and recycling
  • identifying best practices and resources for the sustainable painting
  • business relationships and networks
  • responding to the consumer needs in preparation for work
  • Industry best practice and continuous improvement

The training of painters and apprentices is being delivered by all state associations of the Master Painters Australia.

What is Sustainability?

Sustainability means managing our development so that we don’t limit the options of future generations.

It is about

  • Doing more with less
  • Making sure we don’t leave the cupboard bare
  • Being proud of what we leave behind

Sustainability is also about a better understanding of the systems that support what we do – and the need to take a broader view to recognise that our day to day activities can simultaneously affect our economy, environment and community.
